Rare Michel Audiard limited edition fountain pen, from the "Wild Kingdom" collection, with a gilt sterling silver cap, showcasing a very realistic bear motif, and other geometric motifs. With a gold tone nib and hardwood, this sculptural pen measures 6 1/4'' in length. It is signed Michel Audiard on the cap and is hallmarked EA 99, which presumably stands for epreuve d'artiste (artist's proof) 99. An artist's proof refers to the rare edition of initial casting or printing that emerges from the artist's process and serves as a crucial stage in the creation of limited-edition art

World-renowned artist based in Tours, Michel Audiard was born in Paris in 1951. Fresh out of "les Beaux-Arts", a prestigious fine art university, he started painting and sculpting, before exclusively focusing on sculpting from 1978 onwards. He developed great expertise in the technique of lost-wax casting. He then focuses his production on pens with a unique sculptural quality, creating unique commissions for a high-end clientele, such as Presiden Clinton, Tony Blair, Jacques Chirac, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Madonna etc. He was quoted saying that in 2003, 50 to 60 Heads of State owned at least one of his pens.
