A New York family trade
Raised in the trade,
one piece at a time.
Nathan Horowicz Antiques isn’t a storefront that simply discovered silver. It’s a family raised in the trade, learning hallmarks and makers by hand, surrounded by silver in the shop where generations of knowledge have been passed down.

A family history
From Allen Street to Midtown

Mayer the Buyer
143 Allen Street · Lower East Side
The story began on Allen Street, in the heart of New York’s antiques district, where the dealer known as “Mayer the Buyer” presided over a remarkable gallery. From Viennese bronzes to porcelain and paintings, the shop held a world of antiques. Among his parents’ cases of silver, a young Nathan learned the art of looking closely.

Nathan apprenticed alongside his parents in their busy shop, learning the trade from the ground up. As a teenager, he handled, polished, bought, and sold silver, learning to recognize hallmarks and makers firsthand. It was a tradition passed down through generations, one piece at a time.
