Richard Dimes Company was founded in Boston in 1908 by Richard Dimes, an English silversmith who had emigrated from the United Kingdom in 1881 and who had founded Towle’s hollowware line. He started his own firm in 1908 and inspired himself from historical pieces. Some of his pieces belong to the permanent collection of prestigious museums, such as the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. His firm was sold to Lunt Silversmiths in 1955.
