Tiffany & Co. sterling silver 3-piece youth flatware set in the celebrated Wave Edge pattern, from the late 19th century, sold with its original box. It consists of a fork, measuring 6 1/4'' in length, an all-silver knife, measuring 7'' in length, and a spoon, measuring 7'' in length. The set bears hallmarks and the monogram Helene as shown. Total weight is 4.4 troy ounces. Wave Edge was designed by Charles T. Grosjean, the renowned decorator of silver and introduced by Tiffany in 1884.

Grosjean worked in his family's firm which produced high end silverware to prominent New York City retailers, including Tiffany. Upon his father's death, Grosjean left his family firm to become superintendent of Tiffany's silver factory in 1868. He had great background in silver and was an artist and was referred to as "one of the best living decorators of silver". He was a teacher in the Tiffany School and designed a few full lines of sterling patterns for Tiffany in his short time with the company before his unfortunate and sudden death.

The legendary Tiffany brand was founded in 1837 by Charles Lewis Tiffany and John B. Young in Connecticut as a "stationery and fancy goods emporium," with the help of Charles Tiffany's father who financed the store for only $1,000 with profits from a cotton mill. Tiffany & Co. soon became a highly regarded brand for jewelry, gemstones, and silver. In 1845, Tiffany was a pioneer when it launched the Blue Book, which at the time was the first mail-order catalog to be distributed in the US. In 1878, Tiffany won the gold medal for jewelry and a grand prize for silverware at the Paris World Fair Exposition. The luxury brand’s enduring legacy remains vibrant to this day.
